Hippocampus Earrings

These petite earrings features a playful hippocampus - a mythical sea creature with the head and forelegs of a horse and the tail of a fish - frolicking in waves. A beloved symbol in ancient Greek and Roman art, the hippocampus was thought to guide sea gods’ chariots and protect travelers across the seas. Delicate yet full of movement, this piece captures a moment of oceanic whimsy in timeless bronze. I made the working model of this piece using a historical die on my hydraulic press and then had it cast. Bronze with 14k gold filled leverback earwires. Please allow 10 days for delivery.
