This elegant hippocampus - a mythical sea creature with the head and forelegs of a horse and the tail of a fish - is a beloved symbol in ancient Greek and Roman art. The hippocampus was thought to guide sea gods’ chariots and protect travelers across the seas. I love the regal pose of this beastie! I made this piece using a historical die on my hydraulic press in sterling silver and placed it on a substantial sterling silver 18" chain. Made to order, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
