This necklace showcases a replica of the ancient Stater coin from the reign of Philip II of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great. It features a horse-drawn chariot, or biga, captured in dynamic motion—a tribute to Philip’s victories in Olympic chariot races and a symbol of power, prestige, and divine favor. I made the working model of this piece using a historical die on my hydraulic press and then had it cast in bronze and accented with 14k gold filled bail and placed on a substantial 14k gold filled 18" chain.
